Anubis looks over at Najaran, and then to where the Phoenix was being held. If only he still wore his armor, he could attempt to restrain not just the Phoenix, but even the Black Celtar themselves with his chains.
As he wonders, the field around the Phoenix disappears, but instead of the staff, a helmet floats down to him. He looks at it a moment, glancing back to Najaran, and then quickly puts it on. Armor appears on him and in hand he holds a sickle with a connecting chain and ball.
"Drop the wall!" He yells, charging toward her location as he swings the chain ball over his head. He needs more direct access to the Black Ceptar if this idea is to work.
"I hope you know what you're doing!" she called to him as she recalled the wall of stone. The Ogre grinned and brought its fists slamming down towards Knight who quickly raised the shield to intercept the blow.
While the Ogre goes for the Knight, Anubis goes straight for the Black Cepter himself.
"Quake. With. FEAR!" He shouts as he slams the ball end of the chain into the ground. All around the Black Ceptar, red flashes of light would appear, replaced with chains meant to tangle the caster's hands and body, the intent to completely immobilize them. Anubis is banking on the element of surprise to keep the Ceptar from pulling out a card to protect himself with.
The Cepter was surprised alright, and wound up wrapped, but as Najaran had shown... they can call cards to their hand. A card flew into his grasp. "SHATTER!" the spell card vanished into bright light... breaking the chains that held him. He spin to face Anubis.
"I don't know what sort of cards you have, but I assure you, I will enjoy acquiring them. But first I have to deal with the girl, so back off and wait your turn to die!"
Najaran was busy commanding Knight, and had to hope that Anubis could do well himself.
"I have none for you to take." He leaps into the air again, this time charging straight for the Black Ceptar as he repeats his attack.
"Quake with FEAR!" He is testing this time to see if that Shatter card can be recalled again so quickly. Worst case, Anubis can keep this up for a while and wear down the Black Ceptar with repeated attacks while Najaran deals with the creatures already summoned.
And the problem with using the same attack twice when you do the shonen thing of screaming the name, is that the foe had that second of warning. So when the chains come up again, there is a flash of light... the chains wrapped around a brightly dressed dummy.
There are...drawbacks to the shonen fighting methods. Anubis snarls, letting the chains drop. If his main attack won't work, he'll lean on more traditional methods of hack-and-slash. He looks for the Black Ceptar, sickle at the ready this time. Hopefully, as much as he was struggling, it was buying time for Najaran to come up with more cards to use, or another plan.
Meanwhile, he had 400 years of hand-to-hand combat to draw from. Hopefully it would be enough.
The black Cepter was advancing on Najaran. "NOW! Your boyfriend Zenith isn't here to save you, DIE!" He called holding out a card.
But before it could explode into light a fierce wind stirred, buffiting all of them. "SHIELD!" Najaran called to Anubis as she and her Knight tried to hide behind the buckler she had summoned. She recalled the Gremlin to protect it.
"BOYFRIEND?" A voice asked, disdainfully. "What makes you think I would ever have any interest in... that....?" Atop a statue that had not been there before stood a teenager with shirt dark spiky hair, pointed ears, what looked like dark cloth or leather armor and attitude to spare. What stood out about him, though, were his eyes. One looked normal enough for a human, if a little large. The other however was slitted and not at all mammalian. The dragon-eye application wasn't just dramatic. He actually had an dragon's eye.
"Given the way you saved her before?" The black Cepter snarled.
"SAVED HER? I stopped you idiots from kill stealing, and it seems like I need to do it again!"
Najaran and her Knight started to slowly back towards the water, trying not to be noticed.

Everything they are using is an actual card from the games and/or manga.
