Date: 2019-01-17 07:25 am (UTC)"ZENITH!" NAjaran scolded dangerly as she rolled over onto her back, spitting out sand. "Not what I meant when I said I wanted a sandwi....." She stopped speaking as their attacker came into view, a hole in the sky closing behind a figure standing on the back of a huge clockwork owl.
"Cepter Najaran! Hand over your deck and give us the whereabouts of Zenith Dragon Eye, and we shall make your death swift and painless!"
"Black Cepters!" she gasped, using Goologan as a staff to get back to her feet. "Don't suppose you'd believe me if I said I don't actually know where Zenith is?" she asked, buying time. No way she was handing over her cards to a Black Cepter!

"I know! I know!" She grabbed two cards and flung them out. "Shield! Knight!"
In front of Anuibis a small buckler floated. Between them and the attacker in the sky a large armored humanoid, about twice their height or more, appeared.
"Get as much behind the shield as you can!" she called to Anubis, readying two more cards as she dashed for the Kight's foot.

Date: 2019-01-17 07:51 am (UTC)"You will have no prize this day." He picks up his staff and points the top ball with its wings at the man on the clockwork owl. He then turns and points it at the Phoenix, commanding the ancient powers of the staff to fire a Lance of light straight at the fiery figure.

"Not willing to bet he has less power than I do," Najaran muttered, flinging two cards at the exact same time her Knight lanced its sword at the owl. The owl dodged the sword, but failed to notice the card, which turned into a small creature that skittered over the owl's carapace. The Cepter on the Owl's back tried to turn and see what it was, but the creature was moving too quickly, and for all it tried, the Owl couldn't shake it off. The man... was fighting to keep his balance.

"Good job, Gremlin!" Najaran called as the other Cepter fought to keep from crashing.
Looks good!
Date: 2019-01-17 08:28 am (UTC)As he runs forward he tosses his staff toward the Phoenix, but rather than attack it, he intends to extend the power of the Ancients in a restraining bubble around it. If he couldn't kill it, he'd try to ensnare it. He has no idea if it'll work, but he has to try.
Awsome. Expand the THIS to the whole combat now, lol.
Date: 2019-01-17 08:45 am (UTC)"That stone wall isn't going to hold a blue ogre long... I'm open to suggestions!" Najaran called back.

Date: 2019-01-17 09:12 am (UTC)As he wonders, the field around the Phoenix disappears, but instead of the staff, a helmet floats down to him. He looks at it a moment, glancing back to Najaran, and then quickly puts it on. Armor appears on him and in hand he holds a sickle with a connecting chain and ball.
"Drop the wall!" He yells, charging toward her location as he swings the chain ball over his head. He needs more direct access to the Black Ceptar if this idea is to work.

Date: 2019-01-17 09:25 am (UTC)"Quake. With. FEAR!" He shouts as he slams the ball end of the chain into the ground. All around the Black Ceptar, red flashes of light would appear, replaced with chains meant to tangle the caster's hands and body, the intent to completely immobilize them. Anubis is banking on the element of surprise to keep the Ceptar from pulling out a card to protect himself with.

Najaran was busy commanding Knight, and had to hope that Anubis could do well himself.

Date: 2019-01-17 09:35 am (UTC)"Quake with FEAR!" He is testing this time to see if that Shatter card can be recalled again so quickly. Worst case, Anubis can keep this up for a while and wear down the Black Ceptar with repeated attacks while Najaran deals with the creatures already summoned.

Date: 2019-01-18 07:51 am (UTC)But before it could explode into light a fierce wind stirred, buffiting all of them. "SHIELD!" Najaran called to Anubis as she and her Knight tried to hide behind the buckler she had summoned. She recalled the Gremlin to protect it.
"BOYFRIEND?" A voice asked, disdainfully. "What makes you think I would ever have any interest in... that....?" Atop a statue that had not been there before stood a teenager with shirt dark spiky hair, pointed ears, what looked like dark cloth or leather armor and attitude to spare. What stood out about him, though, were his eyes. One looked normal enough for a human, if a little large. The other however was slitted and not at all mammalian. The dragon-eye application wasn't just dramatic. He actually had an dragon's eye.
"Given the way you saved her before?" The black Cepter snarled.
"SAVED HER? I stopped you idiots from kill stealing, and it seems like I need to do it again!"
Najaran and her Knight started to slowly back towards the water, trying not to be noticed.
